Street Sketchbook

Last weekend i bought 'Street Sketchbook' by Tristan Manco published by Thames & Hudson.
I knew the book was coming out but didn't know it came out last week.

















Never mind that, just simply get it!
The book lets us (artists and non-artists) have a look in the sketchbooks/heads of selected artists and it'll blow you away.

I'm a firm believer that sketches are the purest form of art and the rawest, most spontaneous translation from mind to paper.

And a few of my favorite artists are in there too :)

Painting present

Did this painting last week as a present to a mate of mine who opened a skate-shop.
Acrylics and paintmarkers on a 30x30 cm canvas.

Afgelopen week, heb ik dit schilderij gedaan voor een maat van mij die een skate-shop heeft geopend.

From bad to worse in 5 easy steps

I had the illuminous idea to do a ninja painting as a present for someone.
Since i'm a noob on the painting with brushes and acrylics front, i was in for a challenge.
I was feeling good untill i realized the colors weren't opaque (first pic) so my little grey brainmatter thought it would be a good idea to pull out some Montana spraypaint and doing the outlines with a Posca marker over the acrylics.

While working on it, it went smoother than freshly powdered babycheeks untill....
Yes when the paints dried, it crackled like crazy (second pic).
It's a good look but not intended as a gift to someone.

This was again a brilliant case of trial & error in full effect.
Onto the next one :)

What will it be today?

The Supervirals x SNKRFRKR t-shirt competition is closed and i would like to thank each and everyone of you that voted for my designs :)
The SneakerFreaker-crew is sifting through all the votes to check for illegal activaties such as multiple accounts from the same address and so on. So i really have no idea of the outcome.

In the meantime, i have done this t-shirt design to match with my Puma Suedes :)




































If there's enough interest, it might get printed.
