On the 1s & 2s

Finished this design for a mate of mine who asked me to design a slipmat.
Elements to use were his favorite beverage and a cartoon character of him.
Mixed that one up the the Oakland Raiders/Sal Barbier style type of head and voila.

Vectors & skateboards

As always i was browsing the internet again for random pictures to archive when i stumbled upon 30 cool vector illustrated skateboard decks .
It shows a nice small collection of vector-created designs that the writer has selected.

It also includes some very handy tips regarding how to handle vectors in Adobe Illustrator but also how to screenprint or to set up your own little designed skatedeck shop.

Skateboard graphics book

Got this book in yesterday: New Skateboard Graphics.

The book has some very nice photos of decks and cool interviews with some designers and they're also more up-to-date with the boards of recent years and not focusing on boards from the 1980-1990s (which had a lot of good graphics too don't get me wrong).
Really love it and i'm hoping for a book 2 with more art to oogle at and reminisce over.

Their site is here and while you're at it, just order it you won't regret it.

My next goal is to do a deck-design ;)
