This video was very helpful on learning how to paint digitally, i applied most of it on the Carla-piece below.
Still need to work a lot of things out though.

Done!
Finished the Carla-illustration today.
Opted to digitally paint her because i need to practice it, did some tweaking as well on her.
Also used some textures of a wall and floortile from my backyard to give it some more flavour sort of like a modern day fairytale vibe.
I like it and i hope you do too (and Carla ofcourse).

#4
Looks like i'm getting somewhere.
I was sketching some other things like a pin-up girl style sketch and i was browsing through the book 'The great american pin-up" when i saw a pic and it all clicked.
In the book the main focus is on the girl with little to no background so i'm going in that direction. Next step is to decide how to finish it whether i'll digitally paint it or do some simple shading.

Girl sketch 3
Found some time to sketch again between working around the house and the store.
Amongst the sketches i did a third one of the girl i've been working and the problem i have with finding a suitable background.
Had some feedback from the girl in question as well and got the idea to try the horizontal panel as background.
As for filling in the background i drew some lines in but that can be changed into whatever might pop up.
Also i've been working on some tattoo-designs for people but i won't show untill they're under their skin.
Coincidentally i'm watching the first season L.A. Ink in which some beautiful designs are drawn up so my inspiration gets fed well (and the urge to get my new tattoo is big and the ideas are shaping up nicely for that).

True Magazine #3
Some may have noticed that True Magazine #3 is online.
For this issue i didn't do any work at all but i seem to be credited for artwork and an interview, all without my consent.
So i've pulled out from True Magazine for that reason, i don't want to be associated in any way for things that are done in my name without letting me know.
All the best for the future for them though.

London trip
Few days ago i got back from London with the missus and we had a great time there.
Visited some museums and loads of sneakershops :)
Shot some pics with my new camera, a Canon EOS 1000D (have to get used to it though).
Below are some pics from the British Museum, they had an excellent Japan-collection and a Drawings and Portraits exhibition of which most works were done in pencils.
At the Royal Academy of Arts i managed to snap some quick pics of Kuniyoshi's sketchbook before i got told to put away my camera because it seems i 'forgot' to see the sign of no-pictures-to-be-taken-please ;)
So if you're around London or about to go the London in the near future, check out the exhibition of Kuniyoshi in the Royal Academy of Arts really worth it!
Will definitely go back to London to check out some more places and museums we didn't get to visit.
